Coastal and pilings

Piling inspection, repair and replacement

Tier C · 20 towns covered

Rot, cracking, or exposed rebar under an elevated home. Sistering, wrapping, jacketing, or full replacement.

It's one of the more common calls we get across Southern Ocean County, NJ.

How this normally shows up

  • Exposed rebar or flaking concrete on a pile
  • Soft or hollow-sounding timber at the waterline
  • A structure that has developed a lean or a sag
  • Visible marine borer damage below the tide line

The usual approach

Timber piles are typically sistered or wrapped; concrete piles are patched or jacketed. Full replacement is the last option. Inspection has to happen at low tide to see the zone that matters most.

$1,000 – $3,000 per piling — typical range, not a quote. What your home needs can only be settled by a registered contractor who comes out and looks at it.
